Abstract：Readers of this magazine know that the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Magazine ( GRSM ) editorial usually summarizes the content of the issue, providing hints to the interested researchers and practitioners to make it easier to find the articles or topics they are looking for. Since this is my first editorial, however, I will ask for your patience because I would like to introduce myself and a few preliminary ideas about this magazine.
